Make them wonder why you're still smiling

I should totally be doing geography AA right now, but such are the wonders of procrastination. So, the results for PGA were released! And surprisingly I'm not upset! :D Even though I didn't get past the first round of interviews, I feel..liberated, somehow. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't want the award- PGA has been my goal since I first heard about it in sec 1, but now, knowing that I'm free to go for the mission trip makes me really happy! I guess I've wanted to go for the mission trip deep down, and with God's grace I've managed to accept that perhaps I am just not president guide material. In the interview I remember saying that Singaporeans should learn to bounce back from failure, and now it's time to take my own advice. Not getting through the first round will not dim my guiding light, and the best I can do now is to continue doing my best, and make people wonder, 'hey, how come she didn't get the award?' rather than prove the interviewers right. (Now that I think about it I probably sounded like an airhead in the interview.)

Today was also enrolment! Finally, after months of (not very) arduous tasks and enrolment clauses, our recruits have become new guides! I feel so proud of them, seeing them all with their shiny new badges and new uniforms. While I hope they've enjoyed enrolment, I trust they will enjoy the rest of their guiding journey even more. :D

Speaking of which, last night was spent chionging out presents and letters for enrolment, and in the midst of undone geog and philo AAs and weekday night mission trip trainings, I was really stressed and as a result was kinda snappy to my dad when he asked me to go to sleep early, or if there was anything he could help me with. Normally I would have expected him to get mad and tell me off or just go off and leave me wallowing in my misery, but instead he came back and gave me a little trinket. At first I was like, "huh what is this ._." but when I looked at it I realised it was a small key, with the word 'strength' engraved across it. Then my dad told me to stay strong, and that I will be able to make it through everything that's bothering me. I love my daddy

Although last night was a rush of preparation and a giant mess because it turned out I didn't manage to accomplish much even though I slept quite late, today was a good day. I don't know how they do it, but my classmates (and deskmates!) made me feel so much better and I forgot about all the tiredness and stress and workload, even if it was just temporarily. So, thank you to all of you, for always being able to make me smile, somehow. :D

This is random, but hey, Guides HQ should totally have a consolation prize for those who didn't make the cut for PGA, like, say..a trip to the istana? cos, well, IREALLYWANTTOGOTOTHEISTANA! :D And today was also a testament that good things come to those who wait, cos when I was waiting for the bus home, 2 fully packed buses passed by, and suddenly a third bus came that was COMPLETELY EMPTY. like, empty. with the exception of the bus driver, obviously.
yay :D

ok now back to geog AA. bleh. ):
